Using the method of natural inducement in field,the resistance of 91 new soybean varieties（lines） released in Jilin province to soybean pod borer was identified from²002 to 2004.The results showed that 16 soybean varieties were high resistant,which accounted for 17.6 percent of all tested soybean varieties.Fifteen varieties were resistant and 24 varieties were mid-resistant,which accounted for 16.5 percent and 26.4 percent respectively.Twenty-nine varieties were susceptible and 7 varieties were high susceptible,which accounted for 31.9 percent and 7.7 percent respectively.The total level of the resistance was increased year after year.
