Maize is a grain crop with the largest planting area in Jilin province.All of its farming operation can be completed by using power machinery.Machines being used mostly are in soil preparation,sowing and threshing.Other operations such as intertillage,fertilization,pest control and harvest also have corresponding agricultural equipment,but their application area is limited in production.Existing problems of maize mechanization at present were analyzed in the paper from the situation of maize production industry in Jilin Province.Countermeasures for its further development were also proposed.
