New soybean cultivar ’Jiyu 96 ’was released by the Soybean Research Institute,Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Jilin Province.The results of regional trials during 2007-2008 showed that its average yield was 3187.2 kg/hm²,which was 5.2% higher than that of control cultivar ’Jilin 30 ’.The results of production test in 2008 showed its average yield was 3 054.6 kg/hm²,which was 4.2% higher than that of control cultivar ’Jilin 30 ’.This cultivar was certified by Jilin Crop Varieties Committee in January 2009.Its main characters were much-branched,high and stable-yield,and high resistance to diseases.
