Science ＆ technology department of Ministry of Agriculture published a notification to standard calculation method of science ＆ technology contribution rate to agriculture in 1997,taking the method invented by Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences as the standard method.The authors calculated Jilin’s science ＆ technology contribution rate to agriculture（2003-2008） using this method.The results showed that the average science ＆ technology contribution rate to agriculture from 2003 to 2008 was 53.36% in Jilin province.The increase of agricultural total output value relied mainly on agricultural material input and science ＆ technology progress,and the contribution of agricultural material input was greater than science ＆ echnology progress.
