This experiment was to study the effect of application of new Super Absorbent Polymers（SAP） in the semi-arid sandy barren farmland ecological conditions.The results showed that the physical and chemical properties of the soil were significantly improved.Soil available nutrients and the amount of microorganisms increased after using the super absorbent polymers.The new super absorbent polymers had a significant impact on maize growth and yield.
