Effect of CO2 enrichment on photosynthetic characteristics and growth rate of Zea mays L. var. ’Yue-tian 1’ was studied in plastic chambers. The results showed that plants grown under T1 treatment(600 ±40 μmol CO2 ·mol-1) for 60 d,the net photosynthetic rate was 103.79% of CK(360 ±30 μmol CO2 ·mol-1). Those of T2 treatment(900 ±40μmol CO2 ·mol-1) was 105.18% of CK. Elevated CO2 concentration caused rise in soluble sugar and starch accumulation in leaves of Zea mays L.. In addition,Rubisco activity had no obviously change. The contents of chlorophyll of leaves were decreased. Elevated CO2 concentration caused no obviously change in corn ’Yue-tian 1’.
