Abstract:Leaf senescence can profoundly influence grain filling and the yield of maize. Lots of studies indicat-ed that leaf senescence is influenced by multiple factors, resulting in remarkable changes in morphology and physiol-ogy of maize, which are also associated tightly with the regulation of the relevant genes. In this article,recent advanc-es in maize leaf senescence were reviewed, including physiology, biochemistry and cultivation techniques of maizeleaf senescence, and molecular biology of maize leaf senescence research. It is expected to provide information forfurther research in maize leaf senescence.
