With the rapid development of mass spectrometry and bioinformatics, proteomics technology could beused to understand the mechanism that controls many processes in horticultural plants. The proteome studies of biot-ic stress, abiotic stress, germplasm resources and diversity of common bean(Phaseolus vulgaris L.) were briefly intro-duced in the paper. The facing challenges and prospects of proteomics in the common bean in future were also point-ed out.
