In order to provide a simple, feasible and accurate artificial inoculation method for large-scale resistance identification of corn ear rot in the field, different methods were used to artificially inoculate Fusarium verticilloide and Fusarium graminearum respectively and the pathogenic effects of different inoculation methods were compared. The results showed that after inoculating Fusarium verticilloide and Fusarium graminearum, the inoculation effect of corn spore solution and mung bean spore solution were better than that of other inoculation methods. In addition, among the 10 tested maize inbred lines, Cheng351, Dan598 and JiV203 showed resistance to the ear rot caused by Fusarium verticilloide and Fusarium graminearum, while PHTD5, JiV023 and KX showed susceptibility to the two pathogens. This study aims to provide a reference for the identification of ear rot resistance and the genetic improvement of resistance.
