Abstract:Based on the hypothesis that the selection of e-commerce channels is helpful to improve the technical efficiency of peasant households in poverty-stricken areas, this paper investigates the technical efficiency of farmers in the main producing areas of yellow peach by using the stochastic frontier analysis model through the micro-data survey of peach growers in Yanling County, Hunan Province. Empirical analysis results show that labor, bagging, fertilizer and other inputs have a significant impact on the total output of yellow peach. The average technical efficiency of local yellow peach production is 0.84, which still has great potential for growth. E-commerce channel is an important factor affecting the technical efficiency of local farmers. In addition, the age, education level, technical training, the number of migrant workers in the family and traffic conditions also have effects on the technical efficiency of farmers. It is concluded that the development of e-commerce channels can effectively improve the technical efficiency of farmers' production. Therefore, increasing the coverage area of e-commerce in rural areas and promoting the development of e-commerce in poverty-stricken areas will effectively promote the improvement of local farmers'production technology efficiency.
