Abstract:To breed millet varieties suitable for summer sowing in the summer millet region of North China, this study comprehensively used Grey Relational Analysis(GRA), Membership Function Analysis(MFA), Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution(TOPSIS) and Rank-Sum Ratio(RSR) to conduct a multidimensional comprehensive evaluation of the varieties tested in the millet regional test in the summer millet region of North China in 2024. The results showed that Yugu101, Cang313, Zhenggu678 and 23HK311 ranked high among the four evaluation systems, and their comprehensive characteristics performed well. The results calculated by the four evaluation methods are not consistent with the yield rankings. Yield is not the sole criterion for evaluating millet varieties, comprehensive traits such as panicle length, panicle thickness, panicle weight, grain weight per panicle, and thousand-grain weight are also crucial factors in the overall assessment of millet varieties. Overall, Yugu101, Cang313, Zhenggu678, and 23HK311 are varieties with excellent and stable comprehensive traits, and have significant breeding value.
