Abstract:Improving the quality of farmers' entrepreneurship is an important path to achieve the goals of rural revitalization and common prosperity. By measuring the level of regional digital economy development and combining it with the micro data from the China Household Finance Survey(CHFS), this study empirically examines the impact of digital economy development on the quality of farmers' entrepreneurship and its mechanism of action. The results show that digital economic development has a significant positive effect on the quality of farmers' entrepreneurship, and this conclusion remains valid after a series of robustness tests. The analysis of the subdimensions of digital economic development also shows that digital infrastructure construction, digital industrial integration, and digital development environment all have a significant positive impact on the quality of farmers' entrepreneurship. In terms of the impact effect, digital industrial integration has a greater promotional effect, followed by the digital development environment and digital infrastructure construction. Mechanism analysis indicates that digital economic development can affect the quality of farmers' entrepreneurship by enhancing financial literacy, accumulating social capital, and increasing credit availability. Heterogeneity analysis by dividing the sample according to education level and region shows that farmers in the eastern region, as well as those with medium and high education levels, have obtained greater entrepreneurial dividends.
